Reflex Photonics provides high-performance, low-cost, optical interconnect solutions for semiconductor packaging and data transfer systems with its Light on Board™ and InterBOARD™ technologies. Light on Board™ is a VCSEL integrated interconnect solution that can add up to 200 optical channels and 2-Terabits/sec of additional i/o bandwidth without modifying the microchip or the printed circuit board. It does this by targeting the, as-yet, unused areas of the microchip IC package. The Reflex solution provides a seamless and unobtrusive modular addition to the assembly of semiconductor IC packages, enabling microchips with lower-power, higher-density and longer-distance data interconnects than existing 10-Gbps electrical solutions. For ease of migration and adoption all IC packaging standards, such as JEDEC microelectronic packaging compatibility, are met; the optical requirements are compliant with IEEE/T11, OIF, InfiniBand and/or Optical-Ethernet specifications. Optical communication distances from 1-cm to 300-m can be obtained using standard optical connectors.
